Parks & Recreation
Glenmore offers an exceptional mix of active community parks and expansive natural spaces that make outdoor living a daily highlight for residents.
The centerpiece is Glenmore Recreation Park, an 11.5 hectare space featuring sports fields, a cricket pitch, a fenced off-leash dog park, and a stormwater pond. Multi-phase development continues in 2026-27, with new pickleball and tennis courts, a fitness area, a new grass sports field, splash park, playground, skate park, volleyball and basketball courts. The popular North Glenmore Dog Park provides a large, fully fenced off-leash area with grassy hills and paths.
The Okanagan Rail Trail offers a scenic pathway for biking and walking that seamlessly connects Glenmore toward both downtown Kelowna and Coldstream in Vernon to the north. Nature lovers enjoy Stephens Coyote Ridge Regional Park, a 102-hectare oasis of grasslands, forests, wetlands, and hiking trails that's home to Little Blue Lake, but is currently closed in 2026 for ongoing wildfire recovery efforts. Glenmore residents can access Knox Mountain Park's trails via the Glenmore Highlands, which connect to the Paul's Tomb and the popular Upper Apex lookout.
Blair Pond Park is a true hidden gem in the Glenmore Highlands: a serene retreat where families can enjoy a toddler-friendly playground and tennis courts, while nature lovers follow the pond-side trails to spot sunbathing turtles, red-winged blackbirds, and the occasional blue heron. In the winter, the park transforms into a community hub as neighbors maintain a hand-cleared ice skating track and hockey area on the pond.
Tucked away on Reynolds Road is The Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens & Gallery, one of Kelowna’s most significant cultural landmarks. Internationally acclaimed artist Geert Maas has transformed his property into a world-class indoor-outdoor gallery featuring over 350 works, from monumental bronze sculptures to vibrant paintings. Families with younger children (under 10) flock to Play Area Indoor Recreation, a unique facility that prioritizes STEAM-based (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math) play. Glenmore is also home to a variety of commercial entertainment venues — including indoor rock climbing, escape rooms, bowling, and multi-sport simulation centers.
Beyond the valley floor, residents enjoy premier access to Kelowna’s top-tier recreational landmarks:
Kelowna Golf & Country Club: Located at the base of Dilworth Mountain in Old Glenmore, this historic semi-private club is a cornerstone of the community. Known for its immaculate 18-hole course and ponderosa pine-lined fairways, it offers a refined social and athletic hub right in the heart of the neighborhood.
Parkinson Recreation Centre & Apple Bowl: Just a few minutes south, Glenmore residents have front-row access to the city’s primary athletic hub. As of 2026, the $251 million Parkinson redevelopment is well underway, transitioning the site into a world-class aquatic and wellness facility (the Kelowna Community Recreation Centre) slated for completion in 2027. While the centre undergoes its redevelopment, residents can still take full advantage of the 12 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts, community gardens, outdoor fitness area, and the inclusive outdoor playground.
On April 16th, the city broke ground on a brand new Activity Centre that's expected to complete in 2027 with a new gym, program rooms, fitness & wellness spaces, outdoor areas, a library hub, and a daycare.
